What Could Cause Redness And Swelling Of Nose And Eyes In A Child?
My 4 yr grandson ran into the play set at the park today. we came home and put cold cloth on his nose, wouldn't allow me to use ice. Just kept changing out cold cloth. His nose is swollen and eyes are turning black and blue. Pediatrician is open at 8am should he be seen before that? no headache, small cut under right eye?? He ate fine and is in good spirit.
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
That change in color could be due to bleeding in the loose tissue around the eye. You should consult your doctor at the earliest possible to rule out any injury to the eye. He may also order X ray of the nose to rule out any bony injury. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause.
