Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your distress with your symptoms. Feeling lethargic and increased sleepiness can be due to multiple causes from physical to psychological. Physical causes includes nutritional deficiencies like anemia, hypothyroidism, etc and psychological causes would include depression.

I would suggest you meet your primary care physician and undergo certain investigations like complete hemogram and thyroid function tests. In case of any abnormality, that has to be treated accordingly. Otherwise, a psychiatric consultation for evaluation of depression would be advisable and treatment with anti-depressants could be initiated.

Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
