What Could Cause Severe Itching In Feet During The Night, Currently Taking Folvite And Metphirmin?

Hello doctor, my feet get really itchy at night. I cannot see any visible rashes but the itch is unbearable. Has been happening for a month. I cannot determine the cause. Sometimes my hands itch too. I am 30 years old female, currently on folvite and metphirmin. Could I be allergic to somethjng? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for severe itching in feet during the night after taking Folvite and Metformin.

It is though not unusual but can be due to Metformin also. You report to your doctor and let him/her see the exact cause is related to metformin or not. Folvite is a very safe tablet and contains folic acid which is a very safe vitamin tablet and never can cause itching.

If I were your treating doctor then would have suggested you to take tablet loratadine (Claritin) one to two times for itching.

Do not try to touch, pinch or feedle with the bumps as can get aggravated or an become more painful.
