What Could Cause Severe Utricaria With Itching And Welts With No Help From Any Medications And All Tests Being Normal?
Frustrated with my urticaria which I developed end of October 2013. Recently it got so bad that I had to go on course on prednisone. Zyrtec claratyne and telfast (I I alternate these) daily is barely controlling my itch and welts never complexly subside. (Prednisone worked well-25mg for 3days). Have had skin biopsies, scrapings,blood tests all normal? IGE normal.. Titre for lupus was mildly elevated but dr said level is normal-just recheck in 6 months. So dr says food elimination diet. Must admit peanuts part of my life. Stopped them 3days ago -no change in welts!

You seem to suffer from chronic urticaria. It very difficult to pinpoint the triggering factors. You may go for allergy tests after consulting the dermatologist. The internal causes should also be ruled out. Your dermatologist may provide the perfect treatment after thorough investigations. I would recommend you to take tab bilastine 20 mg daily for long time.
