What Could Cause Shortness Of Breath After Having A Cardiac Catheterization?

I m 49 & just had a Cardiac Catherization. My arteries, as the doctor says, are clean as a baby BUT my EF is 25%. History: 2009, dx w/breast cancer (chemotherapy & radiation), palpitations, EF was 55%. Back in mid November 2013, I started to feel the palps more frequently. The thumping was so hard that eventually it started to hurt, as in pressure & not pain. So much history info that might help but i ll fast forward to the present...... On Saturday 2/22, I just started Aetonolol. During the day, I felt very tired, sometimes light-headed & could barely walk 10-15 yards w/o having shortness of breath. I figured, maybe, because I didn t eat anything, that s why i was having the symptoms. I went to eat lunch & when I was done, I started to walk back to Goodyear. There was a slight incline & about 15-20yards, I stopped & braced myself against the pillar. My breathing felt like it was constricted, like having a tight wrap around my body, that I felt like I couldn t open up my chest to breathe. Got myself gong again but walked/moved really slow. By the time I went home, I surfed the net, & found that taking the med @ night might be better. So last night, I took the pill & less then 8mins, I started to have that constricted feeling. i couldn t sleep, let alone find a good position to sleep. This morn, same thing, 15yrds & I couldn t breathe normal. when i got to work, i was still out of breath for about 30mins more. 2 questions - 1) what can i do to change the EF & 2) Is drinking ginger water good for my heart? Really appreciate your feedback
