What Could Cause Small Raised Bumps On The Forehead, Behind The Ear And In The Armpit?

I have a son who came home with small raised bumps ( a few clustered on forehead, some behind ear , some in armpit and cascading down his back.) It doesn t look like chick pox of anything. Could this be just dermatitis ? He had this before. He has a twin brother who has a less severe eruption of these bumps. PS they are both currently attending a day camp.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be lichen urticates, which is also called papular urticaria. It is a hypersensitivity reaction to insects bite.

Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would recommend antihistaminics like hydroxyzine HCL. Apply soothing lotion like calamine lotion on the lesions. And keep them away from insects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
