What Could Cause Sore Tender Spot On The Top Left Side Of The Scalp?

Hi, I banged my head on the garage door over a week ago. The initial pain was quite intense, then faded after a few hours. Then after pain disappeared, I noticed over the last 5 days I have a tender spot on the top left side of my scalp and very sore to touch. It seems to be away from the spot that was banged. Can you please advise.Thanks Peter

As per your case history, you are having a traumatic rash. My treatment advice is :

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
