Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a few question, I have a 3 week old girl, I’m breast feeding but I’m not producing enough milk to feed her, so I have bought various types of formula to try to feed her, all the ones I’ve tried she spits up, I know babies spit up, but its more then the occasional burp spit up its like ounces at a time, ive tried to feed her breast milk every other feeding, but I think that seems to cause the problem ( I think) What can I do?
If your baby is gaining weight appropriately at this age at 25 to 30 grams per day, then you need not worry about this regurgitation or vomiting. But if your baby is not gaining weight appropriately, then, we need to consider the possibility of a gastroesophageal reflux and she will need a pediatrician's evaluation regarding this.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
