What Could Cause Sudden Fainting?

My son, 6 1/2 years old, apparently fainted Friday 5/7 lasting approximately 3-4 seconds. As he was falling to the floor onto my leg, he clenched both fists and his arms were at a 90 degree angle. I took him to the ER, he was evaluated and we were advised by the ER doctor (who consulted a Pediatric Neurologist) that Aidan needed a EEG. If that test was fine, then no other tests were needed. He had the EEG on Monday 5/10. We still do not have the results from the Pediatric Neurologist. I am concerned about my son and his activity level first and foremost. I am also concerned about it taking so long for the doctor to read the test. I can not get ahold of the Pediatric doctor ~ the office is open but i keep getting the automated message to leave a message. And finally, I am concerned that if this is not seizure activity then what was the stiff arm and clenched fist thing he did...is that normal for fainting???
