What Could Cause Sudden Weight Loss Along With Palpitations, Shortness Of Breath?

I am 20 years old, with no pre existing conditions. Although I have always been average weight, within the last year I have lost weight and continue to lose weight due to dietary changes. Within the past several months I have an increased heart rate, strange heart fluttering almost every day (sometimes in short bursts, other times lasting a bit longer), fatigue, shortness of breath (usually when going up stairs and other slightly strenuous physical activity). I have also noticed that every so often I will wake up and, when I raise my arms above my head for the short span of time it takes to put my hair in a ponytail, I find it hard to breathe and the simple action is completely exhausting (I have even had to stop and rest before attempting it again, only to get the same results). My concern is that my weight loss has perhaps weakened my heart or even caused some kind of heart condition.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Thank you for writing. I understand your concern but losing weight hasn't affected your heart. Do you have anyone in your family with heart problems. I think you should visit a cardiologist.
Best regards. I wish you good health.
