What Could Cause Swelling And Pain Below Breast, Mammogram Was Clear?

I had a mammagram with no sign of cancer, but I have swelling under my breast on my rib cage and midway on my back and because of the inflammation it feels like pressure and it aches, I guess from the inflammation. What could be causing the swelling and pain?

Hi. As the mammogram is normal this is surely not related to the breast.
The site you described makes me feel that the swelling is either from the muscles which might have gone into a spasm and pain , or there can be mass effect.
Another probable reason is a swelling from the rib itself.
Other probable reasons can be lipoma, sebaceous cysts and s on.
Clinical examination by a Surgeon many times confirms the diagnosis on clinical basis and a confirmatory FNAC= fine needle aspiration cytology, CT scan help to get the exact diagnosis. This is most required as this can only give an idea how to treat it.
