What Could Cause Throbbing In Thumb And Numbness In Finger Next To It?
Hi, I had right thumb fusion in 2008. Thumb was still aching so I went back to the doctors and just had the hardware removed and tenolysis done 3 weeks ago. The last couple of days, my thumb has been throbbing and the finger next to it has been going numb. It this normal.
It could be a neuropathic pain. As a first line management you can take drugs like gabapentin as it is quite effective for neuropathic pain. In severe cases you might require an MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
