What Could Cause Upper Respiratory Infection, Severe Cough And Spotting In A Postmenopausal Woman?
I am 52 and post menopausal. Recently I have had an upper respiratory infection and severe coughing. I have had some bladder leakage due to the coughing. For the last three days I have had some minor vague bleeding also. What could be the cause and how should I address this?
Your history of bladder leakage followed by URI & cough is common due to straining. Also spotting or bleeding after attaining menopause, is a condition where you need to consult a gynaecologist to rule out any serious underlying pathology. There are few conditions that cause post-menopausal bleeding, it includes thinning & thickening of vaginal lining, tissue growth, medications or may be cancer. I advice you to do a Transvaginal USG & endometrial biopsy at the earliest for further evaluation.
