What Could Chronic Cough When Lying Down And Just After Waking Indicate?
For the last 5 months I have been coughing more particularly at night while lying down and when I wake up. When I Bend over to brush my teeth the cough is rough and productive but if I stand up straight it goes away. I thought it may have been associated with me taking the flu shot back in November because I did develop the the flu since I took right after a bout of antibiotics and then when allergy season came I thought it was associated with allergies but I don t have the stuffy nose or other symptoms. What could it be?
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having chronic bronchitis with productive cough. While lying down position cough collects at back and bottom of lungs gives irritation to lung tissues and bronchioles giving rise cough reflex. Try to expectorate cough, this will clear lungs. Go for deep breathing exercises. Go for x-ray chest and complete blood checking. Ok and take care.
