What Could Excess Fluid Drools With Abnormal Bowels Indicate?

My son has a feeding tube and has been very bloated lately. Could there be something wrong with the tube?He also has been getting aspiration pneumonia frequently. He seems to have so much fluid and drools a lot.He is taking Robinul to help control the drooling , but still drools a bunch. His bowels don t work well either.Any suggestions that might help us with these problems would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your son having feeding tube, bloating, drooling, aspiration pneumonia frequently. Taking Robinul to help control drooling.
His bowels do not work properly.
With the history you have provided, it seems that your son is suffering from some condition that you have not mentioned that needs feeding tube.
Feeding tube irritate the throat and hence causes lots of drooling. There are other reasons like oral thrush, ulceration that can also cause lots of drooling which in turn can go into the trachea and lungs to cause aspiration pneumonia.
I would advise for him the following:
If possible to have feeding jejunostomy tube is it has to be kept for a long time.
Care of the oral cavity to see for the probable lesions and get treated properly.
To lie on the lateral sides during sleep so that the saliva fall out and does not get aspirated.
