What Could Explain Intermittent Sharp Pain In Groin Area After Having Undergone Spinal Surgery For Spondylolisthesis?
Intermittantly I experience sharp short pain radiating into my groin area aand upper thigh and it is extremely painful I best add I do have pupus/PMR and 6 years ago had spinal surgery for spondilolythesis and had stabilasation with rod and screws ....could it be the next level up ? I also have history of easinopathy (?spelling) of tendon tearing from head of femur ....thank you Veronica
Dear patient This is not related to spinal disease or surgery. This is mostly due to meralgia parenthetica , a condition in which compression of lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh leads to pain and tingling and numbness over upper anterior aspect of thigh. I would advise EMG NCV of involved lateral cutaneous nerve to confirm diagnosis.start taking tab vitamin B12 plus pregabalin 75mg at bedtime for 10 days. If report comes abnormal please consult expert orthopaedic surgeon.
