What Could Explain Skipped Heartbeat And Cough Several Times In A Day?
49 yr old male, 6'0" 290 lbs. No allergies or other major health problems. Smoke about 1 pack a day and have been very stressed out with finding out my wife has diabetes and has been ill for some time now. Also, work is stressful and my car just broke down!
Have been having skipped beats in my heart that take my breathe away. It will go on spoadicly all day and even into the next day then disappear. Also, when I lie down at night, I have to cough several times until I can get comfortable? Is this serious?

Smoking can cause skipped beat ( premature beats ) . ECG and 24 hr Holter are useful for assessment and whether treatment is required. Suggest to stop smoking.
