What Could Fainting Spells And Fluctuating BP In An Elderly Man Indicate?
Hi! I an asking for my dad. He is an 87-year-old very active man who is experiencing fainting spells with fluctuating blood pressures and very pale skin when this is happening. He was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension many years ago and has been on TED hose ever since. He also has had his heart check up last week with excellent results. We are at a loss as to what this is. He also walks up to 3 miles every day and does Pilates. any ideas?
These falls seem to be suggestive of orthostatic hypotension. It seems that his treatment is not very effective. I recommend performing a head up Tilt test.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
