What Could Feeling Of Gas Around The Front Part Of Abdomen Indicate?
i HAVE AN EMPLOYEE WITH SYMPTOMS THAT SHE HAS GAS AROUND THE FRONT PART OF HER ABDOMEN THAT WILL GO AWAY. DOCTOR THOUGHT IT WAS GALLBLADDER BUT CONFIRMED IT IS NOT AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. SHE ALSO HAD BLOOD WORK DONE THAT WAS ALL GOOD. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Feeling of gas or fulness in abdomen could be due to gastritis or bloating. Is there associated reflux disease i.e. reflux os gastric contents back into the esophagus and mouth? If any of the symptoms of reflux are present, then you need to take a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which is commonly used for reflux disease. If there is no symptom of reflux then probably these symptoms may be due to presence of ulcer in the stomach, To look for any change in the gastric mucosa, an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is required. Thus, i suggest you to consult your gastroenterologist to assess the mucosa of esophagus and stomach.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
