What Could Flat, Small Red Spot On Right Shin Turned Itchy And Flaky Be?
A single flat, dime-sized red spot suddenly appeared on my right shin 2 or 3 weeks ago. I first thought it might be a bug bite, but at that point it never itched or blistered as bites usually do. I tried iodine, then creams, but stopped using anything since nothing caused it to go away. Then it began to flake and feel itchy. The margins are smoothe. It has not been painful or felt feverish at any time. I have not had trauma to the leg. I have not changed laundry products. I bathe nightly, shaving my legs nightly, also. I am a 65 year old high school teacher, and am active but not an outdoors-y person.
The most commmon reason for sudden localized eruption that too over extremities is insect bite which often goes unnoticed .
IT MAY not be associated with blistering.
I will advice you to send a pic of the lesion or consult your dermatologist so that proper visual examination can be done and correct advice can be given.
Thanx
