What Could Fluid Leakage In Early Trimester Indicate?

Hello my sister in law is about 11 weeks pregnant and she has started to leak a little fluid as she descibes it...she has recently started wearing a pantliner because of this. I have had a miscarriage before but never experienced this so I am just not sure what is going on with her.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The possibilities in her case are:
-Increased vaginal discharge in pregnancy, which is called physiological leuchorrhea.
-Leakage of amniotic fluid.
-Urinary incontinence etc.
So, let her once consult gynecologist and get examined.
By doing speculum examination the source of discharge can be identified.
If needed specific tests should be done to confirm the leak of amniotic fluid.

Depending on that further management can be planned.
Minimal leakage of amniotic fluid can get stopped if the rent in amniotic membrane seals off.
In case of major leaks continuation of pregnancy may become difficult.
Take care.
