What Could Hypoechoic Lesion In The Test Report Suggest?
My clinical history is HER2 positive breast cancer 2008, just had CT HEAD CHEST ABDOMEN & PELVIS, also ULTRASOUND RIGHT AXILLA AND FNA,. in the report it says that there is a rounded hypoechoic lesion 6mm, shows homogeneous reduced echogenicity, concerns for an infiltrated lymph node and lack of fatty hilum? I do not have the pathology results of the FNA yet, see the oncologist this Friday. Can you give me your opinion Thanks

-The structure should be present in a lymph node. Its a sign that something might be wrong when this structure is absent.
-Cancer is one possible cause for the absence, but it can be missing due to autoimmune destruction (as occurs in rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases) or some other disorder affecting the lymph ducts or connective tissue.

Hi i did review your concern mam. Loss of fatty hilum and change echogenicity with a past history of breast ca needs a tissue diagnosis to accurately comment on the condition.
It would be difficult to give a definite opinion however the signs are a little worrisome. Definative and accurate diagnosis can be given only by FNAC or biopsy report.
