What Could Indentation Along The Inside Of Gum Line Indicate?
I noticed an indentation along the inside of my gum line, along the top row, right side. It is about the size of a small fingertip, has no pain, but I have never seen it before. What can cause this? My outer side gum line is normal. 67 yrs old, male
As per your question an indentation along the inside of gum line can be due to recession of gums over that tooth.
It can happen along with increase in age as the gums leave their normal position and recede along with age. Other reason can be any systemic disease like Diabetes. It can also be due to calcified deposits over tooth known as Calculus which are long standing and are not cleaned with tooth brush. They cause infection in gums leading to their recession..
You can consult a dentist and get a clinical check up done.. The dentist will see your mouth and teeth clinically and take a brief medical history and will do the needful treatment..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
