General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
As fever is there for one week, he requires some investigation like complete blood checking for bacterial infection.
In this situation he might require one course of antibiotic medicine for 5-7 days after consulting your doctor.
give him plenty of water.
give him light diet.
Avoid fried, cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
