What Could Ischemic Foci In Frontoparietal White Matter In MRI Report Suggest?
My dad is admitted in hospital because of some Headche problem yesterday . We done the MRI of brain and some angiography. So in report they mention small ischemic foci are seen in bilateral frontoparietal white matter. So what's does it mean? Age of patient is 48 yes.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Ischemic foci means, There is no blood supply to anterior - lateral part of the brain area (in your report). 2.It happens when a blood clot / plaque (calcified), travels from some other place and lodges in the brain vessel ( narrowed / stenosed ) causing blockage. 3.Happens in patients with hypertension and diabetic patients and patients with blood pathologies. 4.It can be treated by thrmbolysis therapy, and treating the underlying medical condition ( Controlled diabetes, hypertension )
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
