What Could Itchy Belly Button Region Suggest?

Hi, deep inside my belly button recently has been excessively itchy and then today I was getting changed and I noticed that there was a little bit of discharge coming out of my belly button and this has never happened before. It is only a little but but it doesn t smell nice and it hurts my belly button, please can you tell me why this is happening ?
