What Could Itchy Blotches And Small Raised Bumps On Body Indicate?

My 16 year old son who has no allergies or physical problems came home from school yesterday with itchyness. He took off his shirt and had blotches and small raised bumps on him. I have him Benadryl and that seems to stop the itching and bumps go mostly away. After 4 hours they come back in different places and his face slightly swollen. He is a athlete and works out all the time. Rolling in grass on Monday with no shirt on for a drill???? It appears to be an allergic reaction to something. I am taking him to the doctor later today. What do you suspect?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your son's problem can be most likely due to allergy to some thing he exposed. As he is getting improvement after taking benedryl and getting reappearance of rash at another place it can be almost sure that its an allergic rash. Using benadryl or cetrizine tab orally and calamine lotion for local application will be helpful for this. But if there is no improvement or worsening of itching and rashes then corticosteroid injections like hydrocortisone will be needed. In such case approach your GP.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
