Hello Doctor, My son is 10 year old and in year 5.His teacher complains me that he chats too much in class and gets punishment for this.He is hard working and as per teacher s opinion he very good in subjects English,Maths science. But he has difficulty in staying focussed on job.He works more than 3 hours in home for his study but I also feel that as per input the result is not that much good.he can be better. That frustrates me.I feel his self esteem and self confidence is also getting low.He very simple child. His previous school reports also say same things that he had difficulty in staying focussed,He promises me he will improve but I do not know that is this under his control or not.I want him to reach to his full potential. Please help me. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Kids sometimes do like this and it bothers most of the parents. I preferably suggest you to consult an ophthalmologist for his eyesight checkup. Research shows that school going children having eyesight problems have least attention in studies. They have difficulty concentrating on tasks when compared to their fellow students.

Is your baby actively involved in sports and physical activity??? It is the key step in his treatment. Involve him in physical activity. But don't allow him to go alone ( without supervision) to the playgrounds. It will spoil him and he may go astray. Take him to physical activities where he will be under your direct supervision. Or school activities where teachers are vigilant and responsible to take care of your kid's activities, are the best.

It is a bit normal and needs special care. I will preferably suggest you to read a book named Child Development by Laura E. Burk ( consult me for a cheaper edition).

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime. In the start of your question write my name, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please click you found it helpful.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
