General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
urinary tract infection, itself may cause inflammatory reactions in kidney too.
hence challenging it again with alcohol is a matter of concern, and may cause more damage.
I would advise to abstain from alcohol for at least three weeks so as inflammatory process settles down.
having urine alkylating agents i.e dihydrogen sodium citrate would add to the help.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
