What Could Metallic Taste In Mouth During Pregnancy Suggest?

My wife is pregnant 35 weeks along. She is experiencing a bad taste in her mouth, cramping, and contractions. Whenever she touches the top her belly it hurts. At first I thought Gastritis. However, she is not experiencing vomitting, nausea, or loss of appetite. She has felt this way for a few days now.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Bad taste in the mouth can be due to the medications she is taking.
Cramping and contractions can be due to the preterm labour pains she is having.
I would suggest her to consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible for proper examination and treatment as an inpatient, if preterm labour is there.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
