What Could Missed Periods With Tender Ovaries Post Pill Withdrawal Indicate?

Hi this is the second time I have attempted going off the pill. It has been 3 weeks and I have not had a period and my ovaries feel tender..I feel uncomfortable in this region. I can feel them when I roll over in bed and to press on my lower abdomen. i am nearly 44 years old. (Monofeme)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the delay you are having may be because of premenopause also taking count of your age. You can continue contraceptive pills if they make the cycles less discomfortable.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
