I have numbness in my right thumb. The doc says is a nerve in my arm, and that it will go away with some exercises, but its worse. I feel a knot in my right arm and my right shoulder. When I press on it I get shocks up and down my arm...how long is this going to last...I have to type at work...jeshhh
thank you for using our service. I review your questions in detail I will give you my medical advice. The knot that you're feeling in your arm and shoulder could be secondary to an inflammation of the tendon. The numbness that you have in your thumb could be secondary to a nerve trap eat due to an inflammation of the tendon. When you press the area you feel the numbness because of the nerve .Most of the time this condition is related to people that use their hands all the time like typing. The treatment is anti-inflammatories as ibuprofen , a hand brace , and sometime surgical treatment.I hope that my advice has been helpful. Dr. JC
