Hello,
Acute
testicle pain is defined as moderate to
severe pain that develops over the course of minutes to two days. And the most common causes of acute testicle pain in adults are acute
epididymitis and
testicular torsion etc. Your doctor should do evaluation of your acute testicle pain include direct history and physical examination.
You may give your doctor more history such as your onset of pain, its location, and the presence of
lower urinary tract symptoms eg, frequency, urgency, dysuria, fever or chill. The abdomen, inguinal region, and testicle skin and contents should be carefully examined. Your doctor may need to do urinalysis and urine culture, as well as diagnostic studies for neisseria gonorrhea and chlamydia trachomatis should be obtained if he / she consider lower urinary tract symptoms and epididymis are present.
Your doctor may need to do image studies for other surgical differential diagnosis. I encourage you to go back to your doctor if your pain and lump are concern.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
