What Could On And Off Warm Sensations On Left Side Below The Rib Cage Indicate?
I have been having sporatic warm sensations on my left side below my rib cage. It feels as if someone places a warm compress on my skin, however my skin temperature does not feel warm when I touch it. The sensation lasts approximately a minute or less and then disappears. Any ideas?
Altered sensation is usually due to abnormal structure or function of the nerves. Since it is involves nerves outside of the spinal cord and brain, it would be called peripheral neuropathy.
There are different causes such as: (1) vitamin b12 or folate (2)diabetes (3)infection such as shingles (4)liver or kidney disease (5)exposure to toxins (6)trauma
Your doctor may be able to determine the cause and initiate appropriate treatment.
I hope this helps
