What Could Onset Of Periods With Bloody Clots While Having Sex Indicate?
I got my period yesterday while having sex. It hurt at that time. I haven t had cramps or pain today, but I ve passed at least four large blood clots (like a tableapoon each). I just quit smoking this month. I am using lozenges. I ve also been jucing at least one meal a day. I am 26 and have a paraguard IUD. Thank you for your help!
Sex causes rhythmic contractions of the pelvic muscles and the uterus. When you have vigorous or rough sex, the clotted blood in the uterus may flow out with blood. No worries, it's normal. In case the bleeding does not stop, get clinically examined by a gynecologist to assess if the IUD is in its correct position.
Since you are having cramps, take antacids and antispasmodics for relief. Take rest, avoid anxiety and stress. It's good to know that you have quit smoking. Maintain healthy lifestyle. Do regular exercises, take food that is rich in protein & minerals. Stay well hydrated and take adequate sleep.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
