What Could Pain In Left Jaw Up To The Ear Indicate?
My left jaw hurts when I open it, it feels like there is something in my ear but there isn't anything, when I open my jaw it sounds like a mushy noise in the ear and the jaw is very tender. There have been no injuries to cause this to happen one day I woke up and felt like something was wrong and something in my ear.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pain in jaw on opening and closing the mouth along with mushy sound seems to be due to some disturbance related to jaw joint and can be due to Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like full mouth x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxasone.. Do warm compresses over the jaw.. Massage the muscle of the side of face with fingers in round motions.. Take soft diet and avoid excess mouth opening..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
