Hi and thanks for asking us on HCM.
Pain in the
umbilicus or navel (only unborn babies have umbilical cords, the cord is clamped and cut off once the baby is born) is very common in
pregnancy usually due to the stretching of the skin over the
uterus. The navel is a weak point on the abdomen and the pain is usually more focused surrounding the navel. However if the pain is very sharp and constant, you need to see your regular doctor to rule out infection.
If the pain is manageable this is what you could try to reduce your discomfort - lie on your left side, wear a maternity belt to reduce distension, place some sticky tape over your navel.
With regard to
vaginal delivery after C-section (VBAC), you need to discuss this option with your obstetrician. Not all obstetricians favor VBAC as it has its own complications. You will also need to be in a center that supports VBAC. Factors to consider include the type of C-section you underwent (low transverse horizontal incision), roomy pelvis, good record of health, no previous extensive uterine surgery and no previous obstetric problems.
Factors agaisnt VBAC include being
overweight, delivering a big baby (>4kg), having your pregnancy go beyond 40 weeks.
I hope this answer is satisfactory. Good luck
