General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The painful, swollen, itchy cheeks with lump sensation indicates most possible viral infection of some sort affecting upper respiratory tract. The detailed ENT examination of tonsil, pharynx, larynx and neck glands with lymph nodes palpation is of paramount importance in this case.

Following measures will help you for sure:
- Drink more liquids including boiled water
- Consume easily chew-able food stuffs
- Avoid all dairy fat, ice cream, cold drinks
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added epsom salt
- Prescription of decongestant, antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
