Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Persistent Cough Causing Vomiting And Difficulty In Exhaling Indicate?
I have been coughing up mucus for almost a month. It is hard for me to talk without coughing. What bothers me is the constant coughing while trying to sleep and twice I have woke up not being able to exhale. the first time this happened I vomited but couldn t exhale. I am taking Zyrtec that was prescribed to me for want are allergies. what is going on? I have never experienced this with allergies.
Welcome to HCM, I have gone through you query and understood your concerns, I think you have a severe allergic process I kindly suggest to take other antihistamine instead zyrtec, some zyrtec side effects include dry mouth and pharyngitis anyway your symptoms are not improving it's very important to humidify the air and maintain a free allergens environment (smoke, spray, perfumes, dust, chemical odors or any other inhalants) drink enough water and breathing slowly in warm steam hot bowl of water, sometimes during the cough crisis just an environment change can relieve the symptoms. Please kindly rate if my advise has been helpful Wishing you a good health Dr Tania Portelles-Driggs
