What Could Popping And Swelling In Knee Cap Post A Fall Indicate?
Yesterday I fell on my knee cap during a softball game, I landed hard and it s slightly bruised. It didn t hurt but I noticed a ball floating around my knee cap shortly after the incident. I iced and elevated all night. Last night I noticed that it feels a slight pop in my right bottom knee when I walk down any stairs, not painful just odd. Like a tendon snapping. It happens only going down, not up stairs. Note I have a torn mpfl and got surgery to repair that same knee about 7 years ago.
You could have experienced tear of the Anterior cruciate ligament in the knee especially if you feel instability in Ealing downstairs.
Wait for 6 weeks after the trauma and get an MRI done. Avoid weight bearing. Wear a hundred knee brace, take pain killers, keep the limb elevated, apply ice.
