What Could Pressure In Head, Difficulty To Focus With Dizziness In A Teenager Indicate?

hi, my daughter is 16 and is complaining of pressure in her head and a hard time focusing. She says she feels like her brain is scrambled and she knows it . She wants to reach in and make it right... She says it doesn t hurt but she knows what is there. Earlier today she had a headache. She is on hypothyroid meds but didn t take it today. what she is describing sounds to me like an equilibrium issue. She says she is dizzy. When she gets up she is experiencing headaches.... she does not have a concussion - she doesn t do sports and has not hit her head.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Before discussing various symptoms experienced by your daughter, I suggest you to get the thyroid function tests (TFT).
In case there is any derangement in the TFT, you need to consult your treating doctor to review the medication.
Hypothyroidism is a multi-system disorder and can cause symptoms of headache and generalized body aches.
Thus, it is essential to monitor the TFTs.
At the same time, the symptoms of hearing sounds and some disorder of equilibrium suggest some disorder of the inner ear.
Thus, I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment and investigations pertaining to inner ear.
In case any abnormality or disease of inner ear is detected, it can be managed accordingly.

Thanks and take care
