What Could Pricking Sensation On Thumb With Pain In Wrist Joint Indicate?
Sir.i am maxillofacial surgery resident.i am having pin prick sensation on my right thumb .its really annoying and feel cold sensation.plus i feel pain on light touch..also having pain in my wrist joint.will be highly obliged if i get the diagnosis and treatment.as i m not able to concentrate in writing or doing surgery.tnx
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Pricking sensation in the thumb with pain in the wrist indicates there is nerve compression. It might be caused due to inflammation around the wrist joint. Probably it could be 'carpel tunnel syndrome'. Kindly consult Orthopedician for clinical evaluation at the earliest. You may be treated with administration of antiinflammatory-analgesics with steroids. In case it doesn't subside, you may need surgery. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
