What Could Progressing Dry Skin On Penis Indicate?

Hi, I have what looks like dry skin on my penis that has been getting progressively worse over the last few months. I have but hydrocortisone cream and it seems to help for a while, but eventually it keeps coming back. Not sure if it s just dry skin or something else. I m going to get blood work done soon to try and get some answers, but when I went to see a urologist, I was having a good day and there wasn t any evidence of a problem. He said it looked normal. I m curious if someone has some input, anything would be great.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on your history, dry skin could have been caused by allergy due to chemicals or cream.Too much friction can also be the cause of dryness.Regular use of moisturizer can reduce friction. Skin disorders like eczema which is the inflammation of skin,Psoriasis where there is excess proliferation of skin cells are some of the other causes to be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
