What Could Pulled Back While Having Fits Of Phlegm Producing Cough Indicate?
I have had a cough for about a month. Sometimes the coughs turn into fits and I cough up clear phlegm, still after a month. I never went to a doctor as I don t have insurance. Tonight while dressing, it feels as if I pulled something in the side of my middle to upper back and it hurts to take deep breaths. I am reading about pleurisy. If it were pleurisy, would it come during activity like that or just at any time? I was pulling up ceramic tile earlier in the day and all last night, bent over and putting strain on my back.
Since you are having cough for about month you need to under go a basic investigation that is sputum examination and chest X-ray PA view to rule out common infections like TB. Your strain and difficulty in breathing is not due to pleurisy but due to physical exertion. You take enough water to avoid dehydration and take muscle relaxant like tab. serratiopeptidase. work with your primary care doctor to achieve this.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare, General & Family Physician
