What Could Pus Filled Hard Bumps On Scalp Causing Itchiness Indicate?
I have been suffering with this thing in my scalp for about 3 years and it is now moving to my face. I am getting these bumps in my scalp. I keep going to dermatologists and they are no help. They say seboric dermatitis. But the bump are in my follicles. If I don t break them, they grow hard and large and then grow together. They are not flaky. I have no dandruff. I am diabetic. I do not pinch them. I merely push down with back of nail and they break. Most of the time they have nothing inside but the deeper I get, then the bumps have a pus like substance that turn every hard and Will mat my hair hard to scalp. I itch. When bump is hard, it hurts. What could this be. It is not on my scalp. But below.
I think you should do a culture of the pus secretions of the scalp. I think it is a bacterial infection according to your description. The culture and antibiograme will show which antibiotic is the best to be used.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
