What Could Pus Oozing Incision After Draining An Abscess Under The Chin Indicate?
My husband developed a large abscess under his chin. The dentist couldn t find anything wrong with any of his teeth even after x-ray but a CT scan did show a large abscess under his chin (size was a bit bigger than a golf ball). The oral surgeon made an incision under his chin about a 1/2 wide and drained out the pus and put in a drain for 2 days. The drain came out yesterday but there is still some pus oozing out. His chin is still very swollen as well. Is this normal?

I really appreciate your concern, even after the surgery if it still oozing of pus then pocket might not be opened properly or antibiotic might not be responding well and this both the possibilities need to be cleared, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
