Hello,
Your husband is suffering from
protein in urine and also back ache. He does not take alcohol. He has history of herniated L2 and that is affecting L1 also, he is also experiencing numbing. You are suggested to get him clinically examined by a urologist/GP, get
Urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. If
proteinuria and infection is detected, he will be accordingly treated.
It may be indicative of kidney damage, damage to tiny structures called proximal tubules and may cause
chronic kidney disease or acute kidney injury. Medical conditions like lupus or
renal cell carcinoma,
multiple myeloma, etc., can cause proteinuria. He should be treated at the earliest.
Get CT or MRI done to detect the herniation or any other complication that is causing pain and discomfort. He should get clinically examined by an orthopedics and treated. Numbing is an indication of nerve impingement, nerve compression or
nerve damage. He should get Nerve conduction velocity test done & treated.
In the meantime, he can take naproxen , one sos when required to get rid of pain. He can take Nerv Up OD, once daily to help damaged nerve recover. He should stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
