What Could Recurring Extreme Pain In Lower Abdomen, Thighs, Pelvis And Lower Back Indicate?

I have suffered from FMS for over 10 years. This morning I woke up with severe pain in my lower abdomen/pelvic region, groin, upper thighs, and lower back. The pain was on both sides and I was very nauseous, hot, and sweating. I thought I was going to have to go to the ER but instead took a 10mg Flexeril and did a few mild leg stretches. I was able to fall asleep and when I woke up a couple hours later the pain was tolerable. Pain level went from a 9+ to about a 6. This has never happened before. Please advise... Thank you!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The extreme recurring pain involving lower abdomen, thigh and pelvis, lower back indicates possible nerve compression at lumbar spine level. Though the pain intensity has decreased from 9 to 6 out of 10, it is best recommended for the doc visit to evaluate with x-ray LS spine with or without an MRI for the final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
