What Could Recurring Irritation And Blocking In Ear Indicate?

Hiiii Doc....I had an irritation in my ear and den it got blocked and den it opened again for a few mints but blocked again....its bn over a month now it s nt opening....I got my hearing test done and the audiologist said I am kind of deaf from my right ear....but I do feel air type in my ear....I am very scared please help?plz answer me on my cell if possible as my net not working. ...0000. ...thanx

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have blocked ear , which sometimes feel as normal along with irritation . Well there can be many reason for the symptoms you mention in query like water in ear , ear infection , eustachian tube blockage due to sinusitis or post nasal drip , wax build up and hearing loss . I would suggest you to apply warm dry compresses on external ear , take steam twice a day and keep it dry . Consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like throat swab test , viral culture test , CT scan and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe anti viral or anti bacterial drug , decongestants , mucolytic agent and hearing aid .
