What Could Recurring Itching Inside The Vagina Post Protected Sex Indicate?
I had sex last week on Thursday, I believe. He and I have only had sex with each other and we used a condom. The next morning I had an itch inside my vagina. It s not on the outside and there is no rash, but it still itches. Throughout the day I sweat in that area due to the heat but it doesn t itch. Then later it ll start itching. It s nowhere else but INSIDE my vaginal opening. Is this serious? It seems to happen every now and then. And the last time it happened I put antihistamine on it and it went away, but this time I ve put on nothing.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Yeast infection should be ruled out in your case. A swab test will be helpful to ruled out this. Clotrimazole cream for local application will be helpful for this. This is available as over the counter in brands like canestan. Avoid using soaps and irritants to wash the genital area. You can use saline or warm water for this. If the swab is negative then it can be due to allergic reaction to condom. In such case hydrocortisone cream for local application and avoiding latex contoms will help. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
